We’re Interested In Your Story!

To help other women understand and know that they are not alone, we have undertaken to produce, in booklet form, a collection of “Women’s Stories”.  This undertaking will also be used to commemorate Marjorie House’s upcoming 25th Anniversary, and would be available to women who are struggling with the uniqueness of their own situation.

What we are after:

·    Brief childhood history:

ie:   One or two parents, or foster homes?  Fighting between parents or siblings?   Lots of money or not enough money?   Mom and dad working or only one parent working?  Sexual abuse as a child?

·    Relationships:

ie:   Abusive, how many, how long?  Were children involved or the result of a relationship, step children?   (Types of abuse; emotional, financial, sexual, physical, alcohol/drug abuse, etc.)

·    Friends and or family who knew and did or didn’t help you?

·    Challenges after leaving home:

Ie:  Partner, income, custody, friends or family who stood by you or didn’t.

·    Struggles:

ie:   Financial, emotional, children and courts.

·    How long has it been since you left?   Did you seek counseling?   Did you return to school?   Did you move forward or still working on it?

·    How are you doing today?   What are your goals, any obstacles?

Note:   Please DO NOT use any real names; feel free to make them up.

Please limit your story to 300 to 500 words.

No profane language.
