| It is estimated that one million children in Canada witness violence in the home. Witnessing violence can lead to significant behavioural, learning, physical, social and emotional difficulties. Children who witness violence are at risk for continuing the cycle of violence in their own lives when they grow up. In the safe and structured group environment, children are able to express their feelings about violence in their lives. Through role modeling and play, children learn healthy ways of resolving conflict and increasing their self-esteem. |
